SUMMARY:Book Arts/Printmaking Mini Series: Sketching Flowers
DESCRIPTION:We all need a little color and flowers right about now. Join us in a workshop to learn and practice sketching a subject. Sketching is about quickly capturing the essence of a subject as opposed to studying and recording the details. We will sketch flowers\, as individuals or in a bouquet. (Who doesn't like to look at flowers?) We'll use pencil\, pen\, watercolor and gouache. If you are a sketcher please bring your work. I will bring examples\, including my travel journals in which I try to sketch when not on the move.\n \n\nThis class is part of a Book Arts/Printmaking Mini Series. Register for one class or get a discount and take all 4 to build your skillset during the month of March!\n\nOther workshops in the series are:\n\nGeli Plate Printing March 5\n\nAbstract Collage March 12\n\nArt Journaling (2-day workshop) March 19 & 26\n\n \n\nAbout the instructor: Abbie Read is a mixed media and book arts artist living and working in Appleton\, Maine. She has taught drawing\, painting\, printmaking\, book arts and collage classes and workshops over the last 45 or so years. Her work is in collections cross the country and has also shown in France\, Qatar and currently in Hong Kong through the Art in Embassies Program run by the U.S. State Department. Abbie is also one of the artists featured in our public art project Here is Magic.
