DESCRIPTION:Express Yourself: Book Arts\n\n\nNovember 16 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm\n$45.00   $55.00\n\n \n\n\n\nWe will make beautiful reusable quilted pamphlet book covers using a variety of decorative papers\, then work with prompts to create content\, words\, or images. Participants can bring filler paper anything from printer paper to watercolor or drawing paper in your desired size. Instructor will provide book art tools\, scissors\, glue sticks\, rulers and drawing or coloring media but feel free to bring your favorites\, as well!\n\n \n\nAbout the insructor: Karin Spitfire is multimedia artist\, performer and poet who has been making artist books since the early 2000. She has studied with Rebecca Goodale at USM\, Abbie Reed\, and taken workshop at Haystack. At an eight-week residency at Penland she studied with Eileen Wallace\, learning 7 ways to bind a book\, 7 ways to print on the letterpress and 7 printmaking methods. Spitfire's books have been exhibited at the Belfast Free Library\, Portland Library\, Northern Arizona University Gallery\, Atrium Arts Gallery USM/LAC\, and Arhus.  Spitfire is currently working on a seven volume set of large-scale sculptural books titled Seven Sacred Sites/Sights.
