DESCRIPTION:INTRODUCTION TO LINOLEUM RELIEF PRINTS\n\nNovember 28 @ 5:00 pm - 8:30 pm EST\n\n$135.00   $165.00\n \n\nClass dates:  Nov 28\, Dec 5\, 12\, 19\n\nIn this four-week course\, students will learn how to make relief prints using linoleum blocks. In addition to making several prints\, we'll cover carving and image-making techniques\, nontoxic printing materials\, and some of the rich history of relief printmaking. We'll spend two weeks on one-color prints and two weeks on multi-colored reduction relief prints culminating in a print portfolio exchange with everyone in the class. You'll leave the course with a solid knowledge base on how to create an image\, carve a block\, set up a press\, and make a successful print edition. This class is ideal for beginners and requires no prior knowledge of printmaking. \n\nAbout the instructor: Annika Earley makes drawings and prints about transformation\, in-between states\, and the experience of being a woman and parent. Born and raised near Basel\, Switzerland\, she often uses Swiss and German folktales as reference points in her work.\n\nEarley holds an MFA from Maine College of Art & Design and an M.Phil from College of the Atlantic. She has been a resident at the Ellis-Beauregard Foundation in Rockland\, ME\, Hewnoaks Artist Colony in Lovell\, ME\, Monson Arts in Monson\, ME\, Pace House Residency in Stonington\, ME and will be in residence at the Walkaway House in North Adams\, MA in Summer 2023 and at the Burren College of Art in Ballyvaughan\, Ireland in Spring 2024. She has been supported by the St. Botolph Foundation in Boston\, MA\, the New York Foundation for the Arts\, The Albert K\, Murray Fund\, and SPACE Gallery's American Rescue Plan Grant.
