SUMMARY:New Rector at St. Margeret's Episcopal
DESCRIPTION:The Rev. Barbara Briggs will preach for the first time as rector of St. Margaret's Episcopal Church\, Belfast\, at the 9:30 a.m. service on Sunday\, April 3.  The incoming priest will celebrate Eucharist\, at which the consecrated wine will be offered in individual cups rather than a common chalice.  Those attending are asked to voluntarily wear masks because of close spacing in the church.  The Women of St. Margaret's will hold a meeting open to all following the service at 11 a.m. in the adjoining parish house.\n\n \n\nSt. Margaret's will observe Holy Week starting with a single 9:30 a.m. Palm Sunday service on April 10 with distribution of palm fronds.  Maundy Thursday\, April 14\, will be marked at 7 p.m. by a Liturgy with Foot Washing and Stripping of the Altar.   Liturgy for Good Friday will be at noon on April 15.\n\n \n\nSt. Margaret's will join other Episcopal churches in the mid-coast area for a traditional Easter Vigil service at St. Thomas Episcopal Church\, Camden\, the evening of April 16.  The Rev. Briggs will be preaching.\n\n \n\nOn Easter Day St. Margaret's will resume its normal schedule of two Sunday services\, at 8 and 10:15 a.m.  Coffee hour will be held in the parish house between the services.\n\n \n\nThe Rev. Briggs will be formally installed as rector of St. Margaret's by Maine Episcopal Bishop Thomas Brown at a service at the church on Sunday\, May 8\, at 3:30 p.m.  All are invited\, and a reception will follow.
