SUMMARY:One Step\, One Step\, One Step: Imprinting with Unknown Futures
DESCRIPTION:Join Portals into Our Future artist Jamie Kruse of smudge studio for a two-part workshop of expanded printmaking practice and iterative play in collaboration with the planet and its forces. No experience required. Class meets July 25 1 - 3PM and August 15 2 - 3PM. \n\n\n\nIn the ONE STEP workshop\, we will design and build simple structures that will be exposed to forces of change. \n\n\n\nDuring Part 1 (two hours) of the workshop\, participants will design and create a paper\, textile\, wood (or material of choice) based work (2D or 3D)\, and will choose a site for their work to interact with natural and planetary elements for 3 weeks. \n\n\n\nFor Part 2\, workshop participants will reconvene for an hour to share results\, surprises and reflections over tea\, and plan their next ONE STEP in a potentially ongoing\, creative process. \n\n\n\n?Supplies\, such as paper\, watercolor\, string\, small pieces of wood and environmentally friendly glue will be provided. Participants are also invited to bring their own earth friendly/responsive materials for assembly during Part 1.
