SUMMARY:Pottery:Handbuilding (Spring 2025 Evenings)
DESCRIPTION:In this 8-week* hand-building clay class we will cover pinching\, coiling and slab building. With these basic techniques\, and an imagination\, clay can be shaped into almost anything from practical utilitarian objects\, to whimsical decorations\, or objects that express deep personal meaning. What will you create? Ages 15+\n\n*Note class runs for 8 weeks: Wednesdays March 26\, April 2\, 9\, 16\, 23\, 30\, May 7 and 14.\n\nAbout the instructor: Chandra Elmendorf has a degree in fine art and has had adventures in many art mediums. She says\, "One of my deepest and oldest loves is clay. I was introduced to hand building and wheel throwing at the age of 7\, then moved away from it at age 11. I've been finding my way back to it ever since. I worked in sculpture briefly during my college years\, finally making my way back home to clay work for good in 2015. I don't see any end to exploring the many possibilities of this special mud\, and can't wait to see where it takes me next."
