DESCRIPTION:Belfast Summer Nights & Belfast Flying Shoes present a Scandinavian dance with Finnish supergroup Frigg\, Saturday\, Aug 13\, at 7:00 pm at the Belfast Boathouse on Steamboat Landing. The seven musicians in Frigg will thrill dancers as they deliver their hypnotic style of "Nordgrass" music on violin\, mandolin\, guitar\, and double bass. The program begins with a "slangpolska" dance workshop with award-winning musician and dance leader\, Andrea Larson\, of Virginia\, accompanied by local musicians led by Belfast songster and Scandi music enthusiast\, Bennett Konesni.  Frigg will play music for a variety of Scandinavian couple dances\, including slangpolska\, hambo\, and the schottishe\, which is a regular feature at Flying Shoes dances. Suggested donation of $5-20 will help cover expenses.
