SUMMARY:Youth Printmaking Camp - Exploring Environments through Print!
DESCRIPTION:Spend two days turning the world around you into prints in this hands-on workshop. Students will head outdoors to gather textures\, patterns\, and impressions from the built and natural environment\, then bring them back into the studio to transform into prints using the press. Using techniques like rubbings\, monotype\, and bookmaking\, participants will learn how to translate found textures into layered\, expressive compositions. Students will also create their own handmade accordion-style book to document and showcase their collected imagery. Along the way\, we'll introduce artists who work with texture\, repetition\, and place\, connecting contemporary ideas to each student's own creative process. No prior experience needed! Just show up ready to try something new. Participants will leave with a collection of finished prints\, a handmade texture book and notebook and new skills using the etching press!
