The Charm is an 85’ gaff rigged schooner that carries up to 34 passengers and sails from Thompson’s Wharf in Belfast. We are a family run business that operates from Memorial Day through the end of September and are looking for Relief Captains and Crew to sail Charm on morning, afternoon, and sunset cruises. We have full-time and part-time openings for energetic individuals in a positive working environment. We will provide training and even document your sea time if you are interested in pursuing your own Captain's license. We have 3 shifts per day and each shift is 4 hours long. As a Crew member your responsibilities will include: • Preparing the boat for sailing each day • Helping passengers on and off the boat • Raising, trimming, and lowering the sails • Handle lines while sailing and docking • Serving guests as needed • Clean up the boat after last trip of day To be eligible for a Crew position, you must: • Be at least 18 years old · Pass a pre-employment drug-test (USCG requirement) • Participate in random drug testing program through end of season (USCG requirement) • Physically able to raise sails and handle lines • Participate in monthly safety drills • Have outstanding customer service skills Depending upon your shifts, compensation can be as much as $900 per week plus an equal share of gratuities. We also have an additional commission plan for Crew members interested in selling tickets and distributing promotional materials.
