TITLE: Member Relations Representative
REPORTS TO: Executive Director
OVERVIEW: The Member Relations Representative provides the outward-facing connection between the Belfast Area Chamber of Commerce and the local business community. The position involves consistent customer service, sales of sponsorships and advertising, event planning and execution and close coordination within the Chamber team. The position is 40 hours per week with paid time off and disability benefits.
MAJOR JOB FUNCTIONS
1) Member Services / Customer Service
a) Serve as the primary contact for Chamber Member businesses and individuals, providing education of Members about Chamber services and programs, and solving problems brought to the Chamber’s attention.
b) Welcome and orient new Members using established printed and electronic informational materials.
c) Manage and maintain our online Member database to support website and communications.
2) Sales of Chamber Opportunities
a) Manage the promotion and sales of Sponsorship and Advertising opportunities for Members in various Chamber events and publications throughout the year.
b) Perform collections efforts for unpaid invoice amounts from Members as necessary with support from the Executive Director.
3) Event Planning & Execution
a) Manage the planning and execution of several Chamber events during the year, leading meetings of collaborators involved in each.
b) Create written timelines and checklists foe the team’s tasks to hold successful events.
c) Review and debrief on events to determine opportunities for improvement across events.
4) Perform other duties similar to the above as assigned by the Executive Director.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
A) High school diploma or equivalent
B) Excellent customer service skills with demonstrated experience
C) Experience and facility with Microsoft Windows applications and internet-based programs and services.
D) Capable of project coordination, including planning, scheduling, monitoring, problem solving and meeting established deadlines.
E) Ability to communicate and express ideas effectively, both orally and in writing.
F) Ability to prepare informative reports.
G) Ability to work in a close and coordinated manner with the small Chamber team to advance the goals of the organization.
H) Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
I) Ability to work productively, courteously and tactfully with employees, volunteers and visitors.
J) Travel within Waldo County is required; mileage reimbursement is provided at the federal rate.
