Reports to: Network Engineering Manager
Location: Unity, ME
This position is responsible for all aspects related to our telecommunication infrastructure. This includes
responsibilities for special circuits, voice switching, DC power systems, remote cabinets, environmental
systems, and DSL/Fiber access networks. The incumbent is responsible for strategic planning,
architecture, design, implementation, and operations of these services throughout the company.
Install, configure, and manage DSLAMs and FTTH equipment
Turn up and troubleshoot special circuits
Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot voice switching systems
Ensure environmental and power systems are functioning correctly
Maintain documentation and records of telco equipment and assignments
Monitor systems for trouble and proactively resolve and document issues
Point of contact for other providers and vendors
Primary technician for special circuits
After hours support and maintenance activities as needed
Participate in on-call rotation
Any combination of education and training equivalent to possession of an Bachelor’s degree in
telecommunications or networking
Five years of experience supporting Telecommunications networks
Working knowledge of DWDM, T1s, voice switching, VoIP, FTTH, DSL, DC power
Basic knowledge of TCP/IP, routers, switches, VLANs, network cabling
CS1500 and Tellabs experience a plus
Standard Driver’s License. Has and can maintain good driving record
Ability to pass a drug screening

Regular hours are Monday – Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. Will be part of an on-call rotation.
