We teach the art of traditional Shotokan karate. Shotokan was founded by Gichin Funakoshi, who introduced the art to Japan in the 1920's at age 53.
Karate is a counter-attacking art and was never designed for initiating an attack. Karate was designed to defend against multiple opponents. Karate was not meant to be a competitive sport but an art of self-development. We will maintain an attitude of helping and encouraging each other versus competing against each other.
Students advance at their own pace. The more you put into your training the more you will get out of it. We are affiliated with the Dai-Ichi Karate Association of the United States of America.
