Aditi Sethi and Jay Brown — Second Wednesday House Party Concert

Aditi and Jay have been making music together since they met in 2003, blending Aditi’s roots in Indian devotional song, ghazals, and Bollywood with Jay’s roots in American folk, blues, and roots music (honed touring with his band Lazybirds, who once shared a stage with Doc Watson). That first spontaneous jam sparked a lasting musical partnership — as the world music duo Shantavaani, later as part of the folk group the Appalucians, and always as parents raising three musical kids along the way. Today they weave together sacred Indian melodies, Appalachian harmonies, and original songs into a sound entirely their own.
