This class introduces the vocabulary of book anatomy, the tools needed for hand book binding, and material considerations for making a beginner book structure. Learn how to bind a soft and hard covered, pamphlet stitched book. A single gathering book that can be used as a journal, to collect favorite recipes, poems, printed pages and more.
All tools and materials needed for the class will be provided.
About the instructor: Joelle Webber has spent 40 years collecting book arts techniques in college & workshop settings. She now designs classes for many different communities of makers based on her experience in writing, paper decorating, collage, calligraphy, pop-up, paper sculpting, book binding and box making.
