In this workshop, students will have the opportunity to create a bowl with a wavy edge. No previous experience working with hot glass is needed!
Students will receive an orientation to the Glassworks Studio, safety information, and an introduction to the basic tools used for hot glass sculpting and glassblowing. After watching a demonstration, students will then work with a skilled instructor to design, inflate, and shape their bowl. The method used to shape these bowls may be surprising! Working with hot glass requires teamwork. Students will learn how to be a good assistant and help each other throughout the process.
Finished pieces will need to cool slowly overnight before they are ready to take home. Students may pick up their work the afternoon following class at the Waterfall Arts reception desk on the main floor outside the Gallery. Arrangements can be made to have pieces shipped for an additional fee.
More experienced students also welcome. This is an excellent opportunity to refine a bowl set-up, try a new design, or to register with a friend who is new to glass and enjoy creating together.
