his class is a place to deepen your understanding and experience with clay and the techniques of pinching, coiling and slab building. Does one of these techniques call to you more than another? Do you love combining all three? Do you already know there is a skill you want to improve, or a project you have in mind? You will have the opportunity to explore these questions through short demos and lots of hands-on clay time. Some recent experience with handbuilding preferred.
About the instructor: Chandra Elmendorf has a degree in fine art and has had adventures in many art mediums. She says, “One of my deepest and oldest loves is clay. I was introduced to hand building and wheel throwing at the age of 7, then moved away from it at age 11. I’ve been finding my way back to it ever since. I worked in sculpture briefly during my college years, finally making my way back home to clay work for good in 2015. I don’t see any end to exploring the many possibilities of this special mud, and can’t wait to see where it takes me next.”
