About the instructor: Mary Sabins “I was born and raised in Maine, and I live in Union with my husband of 45 years. In January of 2023, I retired from a 33-year career in municipal government work. My interest in the hobby of needle felting began in 2016 when I took an Adult Education enrichment class at Camden High School to learn needle felting. I began teaching this felting craft to family and friends for fun and on a casual basis before I retired. Once I retired, I was asked by the Messalonskee School district, where I had taken multiple enrichment classes over the years, to teach a needle felting class in that district. I quickly agreed because I had learned that I enjoy teaching others. The written student evaluations from these school district classes have been very positive and encouraging for me, which inspires me to pursue teaching further.”
