PRINTMAKING II builds on the three core printmaking methods covered in Printmaking I and adds more tools to your kit. In this class, we will cover stencil silkscreening, reduction relief, as well as hard and soft-ground etching. Over the course of six weeks, you will learn how to create a variety of images, advanced composition, and how to use printmaking equipment including etching presses, relief cutting tools, copper plate grounds, oil and soy-based inks, and more. This class is designed to be a companion course to Printmaking I and we recommend you take Printmaking I or have prior experience with the methods before signing up for this class. If you wish to take this class multiple times, more advanced techniques can be introduced. Class meets: April 3, 10, 17, 24, May 1 and 8 Anyone enrolled in Printmaking I or II is eligible for a reduced rate for Community Print hours – currently offered on Friday and Saturday afternoons – for the duration of the class. Choose the “student rate” when registering for a spot in one of these sessions.
