Marketing & Communications Coordinator

Part-Time | 20 hours per week | $17-19/hr + Benefits 

Waterfall Arts, a vibrant community arts center in Belfast, Maine, is seeking a Marketing and Communications Coordinator to support the Marketing Director in executing the organization’s comprehensive marketing strategy. This role will play a critical part in generating and distributing marketing materials that support Waterfall Arts' brand and mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Social Media & Digital Marketing

    • Create and schedule engaging content across social media platforms while maintaining a consistent brand voice.

    • Track engagement metrics and provide performance reports to the Marketing Director.

  • Email Newsletters

    • Develop and send regular email campaigns to keep our audience informed and engaged.

  • Graphic Design & Branding

    • Design on-brand promotional materials for classes, workshops, and events using Canva or Adobe Suite.

  • Photography & Media Management

    • Capture and organize photos from events, programs, and workshops.

    • Maintain a well-organized digital asset library.

  • Website Updates

    • Work with our IT volunteer to upload classes and events to the website.

  • Content Development

    • Collaborate with the communications volunteer to manage the quote bank, conduct interviews, and create blog posts.

  • Marketing Distribution

    • Coordinate volunteer street teams and personally distribute flyers and posters to key locations.

  • Event Support

    • Assist with on-site marketing and promotional needs during key Waterfall Arts events.

  • Major Campaigns & Promotions

    • Support the Marketing Director on large-scale projects such as annual appeals, fundraising initiatives, and exhibition marketing.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience in social media marketing, content creation, or communications.

  • Proficiency in graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Suite preferred).

  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Constant Contact, and Wordpress.

  • Strong organizational skills for managing digital assets and media.

  • Excellent writing and editing abilities.

  • Photography skills (preferred but not required).

  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.

  • Willingness to perform other duties and responsibilities as requested with a sense of humor and team spirit.

  • Ability to work well in a busy, fast-paced small office 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and on deadline with limited support 

  • Passion for the arts and community engagement.

Reporting Structure

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will report directly to the Marketing Director and will be integral to supporting the Director’s overall efforts in driving visibility, audience engagement, and community connection. This position requires close collaboration to ensure consistency in brand messaging and effective execution of marketing strategies.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $17-19/hr
