Overnight Family Housing Support--Part-Time

Who are we: Family Harbor House (FHH) is a transitional housing facility in Belfast, Maine operated by the Midcoast Maine Housing Coalition. This is a 24-hour facility for up to four families who were unhoused or in imminent danger of homelessness. 

Duties of the Position: We are looking for one or two people to  provide support up to three nights per week including Saturday and Sunday from midnight to 8 a.m. at our transitional housing in Belfast. Duties will include being available to families as needed and maintaining the safety and orderliness of FHH. This may involve light housekeeping, some assistance with meal preparation in the morning, and some recordkeeping duties. Staff may be required to remain awake through the night if needed.
Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Course work, training, or experience in supportive roles, such as social work, caregiving, teaching, medicine, and non-profit organizations helpful
  • Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Experience working with children and/or families preferred
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to implement and utilize limit setting techniques and maintain appropriate boundaries
  • Comprehensive criminal background check is required

Compensation:
This is a part-time, hourly position paying $18.00 per hour. Currently, the position does not include any paid time off or employee benefits.
