Part-Time Program Director for Family Harbor House

The Part-Time Program Director will provide day-to-day supervision of all operations at Family Harbor House, a transitional housing facility for 3-4 families and up to fifteen people. This is a 25 hour per week position, working onsite at Family Harbor House.  This position reports to the Board of Directors of Midcoast Maine Homeless Coalition (MMHC), with day-to-day supervision by the Chair of the Board of Directors. Salary range: $35,000 to $40,000 on an annual basis.
 
Required Skills and Education
  • BSW or BA in education, early childhood education, social services, or related field.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in nonprofit social service delivery to families and children including program development/management, grant writing and reporting, and staff/volunteer supervision. Knowledge of trauma informed care.
  • Ability to maintain positive relationships with children, parents, volunteers, and the community.
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, and ability to work independently
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, email, and Excel. Familiarity with Constant Contact a plus.
  • Ability to pass the required criminal history and background check.
  • Must possess a valid Maine Driver’s License and vehicle insurance.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Oversee all aspects of the day-to-day operations of Family Harbor House.
  2. Provide leadership and coordination of program design and development insuring that MMHC’s mission and core values are embodied in all actions.
  3. Assist in screening and selection of Family Harbor House clients and facilitate the orientation process as well as ongoing management and oversite in the house.
  4. Provide scheduling and other support to case management providers, working with residents to ensure compliance.
  5. Maintain client files and documents and ensure confidentiality of client information.
  6. Collaborate with Volunteer Coordinator, oversee the recruitment, training, placement, and supervision of volunteers to maintain 24/7 coverage.
  7. Assist in the development of government and private grants in collaboration with the MMHC Board of Directors.
  8. Oversee maintenance of physical facilities, in collaboration with property managers for the Belfast United Methodist Church and the Board of Directors of MMHC.
  9. Attend meetings of MMHC Board of Directors.
  10. Other duties assigned by the Board of Directors of MMHC.
