But Still I Am One is a small nonprofit whose mission is to empower young adults aged 16 to 21 experiencing homelessness in Waldo County. We do this by providing prepaid Visa cards so they have the freedom and agency to buy the essentials they need. We also provide information about other resources available to help them.
Job details
We truly hope you will see this as a rewarding opportunity. We’d love to welcome a new member to our Board. The accounting system we use is Quicken. According to our current Treasurer, who is leaving due to personal reasons, Quicken is easy to learn. It is designed for people with no bookkeeping experience. However, as we grow, we would like to switch over to QuickBooks eventually. If you are interested, please email Neva Allen at butstilliamone.org@gmail.com.
Volunteer Treasurer Needed Immediately
As a Treasurer on our Board of Directors, you'd help manage our finances, work closely with our bookkeeper to prepare monthly reports, and collaborate with our grant writer on grant applications. You’d also have the opportunity to attend monthly Board meetings mostly via Zoom, where you can share updates, ask questions, and offer your ideas or suggestions. Additionally, you're encouraged to propose new fundraising strategies or seek advice from fellow Board members.
