Aquatics Director. Under the supervision of the CEO, this position is responsible for the supervision and management of all facets of the Aquatics Department. Duties include the design, compliance, and oversight of the aquatics programming content, daily operations, pool equipment, staff supervision and safety of all aquatic activities.

 

We are looking for a service driven, self-motivated, hands on team leader with strong communications, networking and collaboration skills.

· At least 21 years of age, with YMCA, Red Cross, Ellis, or Starguard Lifeguarding certification. If not Red Cross certified, the employee must cross over to the Red Cross certification within six months of hire.

· At least three years of experience in instruction and management of a wide variety of Aquatics programs and pool maintenance.

· Experience supervising staff and developing pool schedules and class schedules, as well as good member and staff relation skills.

· Must be aware of YMCA movement and trends in the aquatic field and must continue to enhance his/her knowledge in YMCA Aquatic Management and certifications.

· Innovative mind-set regarding aquatic program development and revenue generation.

· Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage several projects at once and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. High level of attention to detail and quality of programming, service and facilities.
 

School Before Care & Child Watch: Babysitting work to begin in September 2024. The successful candidate will help the team deliver excellent service to all members, and participants in this program.  Join us at 7:00 am for before school care. You will assist with the K-5 school students as they start their day at the WCY. Once the kids have boarded the school bus you will transition to Child Watch/Babysitting. Our Child Watch/Babysitting service is opened to children from 8 weeks to 10 years and is available Monday through Friday mornings 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. We also offer seasonal evening hours, so the working parent can feel free to come workout, take a class, or swim. Child Watch / Babysitting is an Annual Member Benefit, for parents/caregivers using our facility. YMCA staff will lead children through games, stories, and activities. Preschool Extended Care Staff & Preschool Substitute, work to begin in September 2024. We are seeking a cause driven, innovative individual to join our team. The Waldo County YMCA provides after school care for kids in our Pre-K program. Our Preschool provides a safe, fun and comfortable setting where children and their families can build positive relationships. In our Pre-K after care program children will be involved in a variety of activities such as discovery, gym-swim time, art, outdoor play, science, music writing and reading.

The successful applicant must be able to actively participate with youth in this program. The staff provide high quality recreational experiences focusing on the YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring. Bus Stop Care Staff, work to begin in September 2024.  Would you like to have a blast while you are making a positive impact on youth in your community? The Waldo County YMCA provides before and after school care for youth in Kindergarten through Grade 5. Join our team of people dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children with a job in Bus Stop Care. As an organization, we believe in the importance of investing in kids by helping them grow and develop! Do you enjoy working with youth in a fun and creative environment? Then the Y has an opportunity for you! Staff must be able to actively participate in youth games/activities which include getting in the water during swimming, arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor games, enrichment activities, etc. Bus Stop Care Counselors provide high quality recreational experiences focusing on the YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring. Teen Coordinator work to begin in September 2024. Responsibilities include planning and implementing a comprehensive Teen program for middle school students. Oversight and management of both volunteers and staff. You will be coordinating activities and logistics for the afterschool Teen program within the facility and community that provide a quality experience to all.  Candidate will support the afterschool Teen Access Program during the school year. Custodial Staff Support. We’re looking for the best and brightest to take our Y Facilities to the next level. This position supports the work of the Y, a leading charity committed to strengthening community. Cleans and sanitizes assigned areas, including such duties as mopping, dusting, and trash removal. May complete duties related to window washing, meeting set up, snow removal, grounds keeping, and other related responsibilities. If you have passion for housekeeping or janitorial expertise the Y may have a position for you! The following shifts are available: Evenings & Saturdays.

 

Sports Coordinator

The Waldo County YMCA has a part-time opening for a Sports Coordinator. If you're the right candidate for the job, you have a love for team sports, excel at building relationships and enjoy working with people. You have a passion for working with staff, volunteers and are excited to spend your time impacting the lives of those in our community. You pride yourself in being levelheaded, a strong communicator and can manage multiple assignments and priorities. You must have the ability to build strong relationships on an individual level and cultivating relationships within a team. Lifeguard

We are looking for part-time lifeguards available for early mornings, daytime, evenings, and weekends. We provide flexible hours and can work around your schedule. This is an awesome opportunity for those wanting part time work, or for those venturing into the job field for the first time! The successful candidate will help the team deliver excellent service to all members, guests and program participants. This position will help promote memberships and programs. Front desk duties include assisting members and completing daily work in a point-of-sale computer system, answering phones and completing credit card sales.
