About Us

Marshall Wharf Brewing Company is a locally owned and operated craft brew-pub located on Marshall’s Wharf in beautiful Belfast Bay. The brewery is housed in a historic waterfront building (circa 1890) that served as the city granary. The brewery sits next to its partner business, Three Tides bar and tapas restaurant, which offers waterfront dining and a stunning beer garden.

Marshall Wharf Brewing Company originally opened in 2007 following Three Tides (2004) under the inspiration of David and Sarah Carlson, who’s love and hard work secured a place for these businesses in the community and in our hearts. Three Tides and Marshall Wharf Brewing Company became much-loved local hang-outs, as well as an anchor for the city’s music festivals and community gatherings.

Daniel Waldron and Kathleen Dunckel bought the businesses in 2020 and are beyond thrilled to be working to bring them back to the community! After some minor renovations and a whole lot of TLC, the brewery is up and running as of August 2020. We are ecstatic to be brewing beer again that we can share with you all!

Three Tides will be undergoing some needed renovations and hopefully reopen in the near future.

The Marshall Wharf Brewing Company Tasting Room is located right in the brewery and next to Three Tides. In the Tasting Room, you can learn about the beers we have on tap and our process, grab growlers to go, and purchase MW merch.
