About Us

The Alden House is an inviting, comfortable inn located in Belfast, in the heart of Penobscot Bay. Built in 1840 for Hiram O. Alden by architect Calvin Ryder, the inn features classic architecture and expansive gardens in a convenient in-town location.

The Alden House Inn offers easy access to all points of interest along Penobscot Bay, Acadia National Park, Maine’s Mid-Coast region and of course the City of Belfast, with its eclectic array of shops, musical and artistic events, and beautiful shoreline. Belfast has long held a reputation as a cultural destination. Main and High Streets also boast several restaurants and pubs, and we now have a world-class shipyard.
