Allison McKeen: Quilts - Art Opening

Come celebrate with us on Friday, August 22, from 4:00p–7:00p for the very first art opening at The Commons! Produced by Lights Out — a statewide arts organization dedicated to promoting Maine artists — this special evening will feature new work by Allison McKeen. Enjoy art, conversation, and community as we open the doors to this exciting new space.

Allison McKeen is a self taught interdisciplinary artist living and working in Gardiner, Maine. Her quilted paintings make a visual language of color and form out of fabric scraps and fragments. These sewn paintings bridge practices of quilting and drawing, making lines and shapes of the diverse textures and colors of found fabric.
