Join us Friday, February 14 at Homeport Inn and Tavern for an intimate Valentine’s Dinner and Concert. Your ticket will include an elegant pre-fix 3-course meal, dessert and a glass of wine. Doors will open at 5pm, dinner will be served at 6pm. At 7:30pm Bagaduce Music presents Time Travel to Tin Pan Alley, a unique docu-concert from The Time Travel Trio who deliver a new take on celebrated standards from the golden Jazz Age of the 1920s written by Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, and the Gershwins. The Trio features pianist and UMaine Jazz Studies Program professor Scott Cleveland, UMaine Jazz Studies program director Dan Barrett on trombone, and Ann Delaney, professional vocalist and amateur musicologist. The Time Travel Trio shares the music of the era and the stories behind the composers and the performers including Al Jolson, Fanny Brice, and Billy Rose. The inspiration behind forming the Time Travel Trio was the recent availability of popular songs from the 1920s into the public domain, and the opportunity it presented to perform and share the history of the songs that formed the basis of what is informally known as The Great American Songbook. The sheet music used to prepare these concerts was borrowed from the Bagaduce Music library! The Homeport Inn and Tavern is located at 121 E. Main Street, Searsport ME 04974. Tickets are $100 per person, inclusive of tax and gratuity. We are limited to 36 guests, to reserve your tickets call Homeport Inn at 207-548-2259. Sorry no cancellations.
