Book Arts Workshop: Fun Books

Join teaching artist Shannon Kerner for this fabulously FUN book making workshop. Different sculpture books will be made and decorated in this single-day class. Having a fun time with books is easy when structures are whimsical. Learn templates on which you can place your art including, accordion variations, hexaflexagons and pop-ups.

About the instructor: Shannon Kerner is a marbler, book conservator, bookbinder and book artist who lives in Rockland, Maine. She creates various marbled products for Kerner Marbled including: marbled paper, book cloth, parchment, leather, and woven marbles. In addition, Ms. Kerner also makes books, fixes books, frames things, and has a great enthusiasm for marbling, conservation and the book arts. Since graduating from the North Bennet Street School, she has established a private practice as Kerner Conservation and Book Arts, and has worked as Conservation Manager at the Bridgeport National Bindery, and as a senior-level conservator at the National Archives and Records Administration.
