Dan Clayman at Waterfall Arts: Lecture + Beginner Kiln Casting Workshop Join world-renowned glass artist Dan Clayman for a weekend of inspiration and hands-on learning in Belfast, Maine. On Saturday, September 6, 7–8:30 PM, Clayman presents Fragile Materiality, a free public lecture tracing the history of the Contemporary Glass Movement, sharing insights from his four-decade career, and exploring the future of glass in art and architecture. On September 6–7, 9 AM–6 PM, Clayman leads Introduction to Kiln Casting, a beginner-friendly workshop designed for artists of all backgrounds — painters, ceramicists, sculptors, photographers, or anyone curious about working with glass. Participants will learn the fundamentals of plaster investment molds, glass selection, firing schedules, and tips for successful kiln casting. No prior glass experience required.
