There is a lot of anxiety, worry and stress that is accompanying the upcoming election. How are you dealing with that, on top of all the other stresses and pressures we have been feeling in this very odd year of 2020?
Out of concern for the spiritual wellbeing of our community, we are planning to hold a prayer vigil the day before the election.
It is our hope to offer a time to help people free themselves from some of the burdens they have been feeling, begin the process of overcoming the divisiveness this political campaign year has brought, and bring ourselves as one before God. We invite you to join us.
Night Before Voting Day Prayer Vigil
Monday, Nov. 2, 2020
First Church front lawn
104 Church St., Belfast
We will have a fire in the fire pit and people can bring candles and lawn chairs if they wish.
This will be a non-partisan event. No signs or political attire should be worn.
We will simply stand and offer prayer for our nation and our people.
People can come and go as they wish.
It will be cold, so people should dress warmly.
All are welcome.
Everyone is asked to observe the latest CDC guidelines, including practicing social distancing and wearing face masks.
