$115.00 – $145.00 Class dates: November 7, 14, and 21 In this three-week course, students will learn how to make monotype prints using mylar and a water-based pigment transfer technique. Akin to collages, this method creates an image by “puzzling” together individual mylar shapes that are then assembled on the press bed and transferred onto paper. Students will learn how to properly prepare an image using water-based media like watercolors, water-soluble crayons, markers, etc, how to prepare a press for printing, and how to work in a green (non-toxic) print shop. The course will culminate in a print exchange and a portfolio of several monotypes. This class is ideal for beginners or intermediate printmakers. No prior knowledge of printmaking is required.
